TowZone
OK, so this article is from 3 years ago. Do you believe it is still relevant today? LOUDON, N.H. — NASCAR legend and team owner Richard Petty says he’ll fire any drivers who protest the national anthem. “Anybody that don’t stand up for the anthem ought to be out of the country. Period. What got ’em where they’re at? The United States,” Petty told the Associated Press. Petty was asked if a Richard Petty Motorsports team member would be fired for protesting during the anthem, and he replied, “You’re right.” Owner and former driver Richard Childress also said, “It’ll get you a ride on a Greyhound bus.” No drivers or other team members sat or kneeled at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway during the NASCAR Cup series race Sunday in Loudon, N.H. Joe Driscoll
Bubba Wallace, who stated that the battle flag or anything supporting the Confederacy, should not be allowed at NASCAR events. Leading to NASCAR banning anything that represents the confederacy. But yet he still agrees to be sponsored by Coca Cola, which was invented by a Confederate soldier. Is Bubba Wallace going to demand Coca Cola to change their recipe? Probably not, it puts money in his pockets, that's all he cares about. The flag doesn't hurt him any more than the soft drink does. During the American Civil War, John Pemberton served in the Third Cavalry Battalion of the Georgia State Guard, which was at that time a component of the Confederate Army. He achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1866, seeking a cure for his addiction, he began to experiment with painkillers that would serve as morphine-free alternatives to morphine. His first recipe was "Dr. Tuggle's Compound Syrup of Globe Flower", in which the active ingredient was derived from the buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis), a toxic plant that is common in Alaska. He next began experimenting with coca and coca wines, eventually creating a recipe that contained extracts of kola nut and damiana, which he called Pemberton's French Wine Coca.
