I just attended the induction ceremony for the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum Class of 2024. There are certain eligibility requirements to be nominated. Nominees must meet at least one of the following criteria: tow equipment/product innovation, exemplary dedication, industry leadership and professional achievement.

There were nine nominees with three coming from the countries of Australia, France and Canada. As each nominee was introduced, a brief bio was given for each of them. As I listened to each introduction, I was so impressed by the professionalism and dedication each had to the towing and recovery industry. But what I was most impressed with, though, was that each one showed how important their leadership and commitment was in giving back and helping their national and state towing associations and their communities with many civic projects and supporting such outreaches like St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Every nominee also thanked their family and employees. I know I could not do what I do without that support, either.

Towing certainly is a way of life and yet, somehow, members of the towing and recovery industry find the time and resources to help more than just the motoring public. That, to me, says a lot about the members of the Towing Hall of Fame Class of 2024, and the members of our industry.

Do you know someone in this industry that you feel needs to be recognized and inducted into the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame? Nominations for the Class of 2025 are now being accepted and a nomination form can be found on the ITRHFM’s website.
