Steck Manufacturing has introduced the new Hold-a-Rotor Tool Kit (STC71000). The Hold-a-Rotor is designed to secure automotive and light truck disc brake rotors in place during repairs. Because these professional-grade plugs are design to fit the most common 12- millimeter (green) and 14-millimeter (red) wheel mounting studs, the Hold-a Rotor works on more than 90 percent of domestic and European vehicles.

These tools help speed up technician repair times during brake pad, wheel bearing jobs, and other wheel and brake repairs that require the removal of the rotor. The plugs are made in the USA from a super-duty durable polymer for long life. They easily store in a drawer, with each size quickly identified by its unique color. They are ideal for auto repair technicians, tire and break repair shops, car dealers, body shops, auto parts stores and DIYers making repairs to their own vehicles.

“Capped or chromed encapsulated hex nuts can’t hold the rotor in place without the wheel. So, techs must search for a spare hex nut with the correct diameter and thread pitch,” says Milton Specialty Tool Group General Manager  Jeffrey Del Rossa. “The new Hold-a-Rotor, quickly and easily slips on and off one-handed, securing the rotor to the hub face. It keeps the rotor in its installation position, preventing it from wobbling and causing difficulty fitting brake pads and calipers, reducing repair times.”

The Hold-a-Rotor Kit is available from Milton Industries Specialty Tool Group’s Steck Manufacturing, ProMAXX Tool, and LTI Tools. For more information about the Hold-a-Rotor visit steckmfg.com.
