Person hit and killed while walking on I-80

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Police are investigating after a person was hit and killed while walking on I-80.

The crash was reported at around 10:00 p.m. Monday, just west of Sparks Boulevard.

Nevada Highway Patrol tells KOLO 8 News Now that a person was walking in eastbound lanes when they were hit by a tow truck. The driver remained on scene.

It is unclear why the person was on the freeway.

KOLO has reached out for more information and will provide updates once they are available.
