EdsTowing
After 20 years of service, we decided to replace our main Heavy Duty with a new Flag Ship. This is a Peterbilt 567 with a Jerr-Dan 35 ton Integral wrecker... These new trucks are pretty sweet... Cummins X15 550 with an 18 spd, 46k full lockers on Air Track, 18k Steer axle... Navigation, Satellite radio, Wi-Fi with a built in browser, heated & cooled seats... It's a big step up from my "Shaker"... Spent most of the day figuring out boxes & equipment...it's a big change in the body as well. I made brackets to hold the cribbing from sliding around. We had extra shelves & what not installed to help with organization... We got a lot more to do and some new stuff coming. It' gets a "wrap" in 2 weeks so I'll update with some pics when it is done. A thanks to Dale McLaughlin @ Fallsway Equipment and Richie Guttman @ Jerr-Dan for all the help with the truck and build. We were very happy on how it turned out.
yoBdaBenO
Those roll up doors are fantastic, told dad we need those on our heavy when we get one. He keeps delaying, but we have business to justify the purchase. Good Luck with it...

EdsTowing
Thanks for the comments. I ran all day in it yesterday and it worked great. Nice profit day as well...took a box truck 110 miles to NJ in the morning... On the way back through Philly got a call from a customer broke down on the Turn Pike in Philly. Made for a nice return trip & I was on scene in 10 min! Can't stay clean forever... 😞
EdsTowing
Built a chain rack today for the front box today. Made the mounts as hooks to hold my tie down chains... I cut out a thick pad to protect the wall from getting marred up & keep the noise down...
Njsss
What brand are the green chain binders? Truck is looking good
EdsTowing
I forget what brand they were, I'll have to check. Did a few other storage upgrades yesterday. I like to take the time to figure out solutions to some of my needs...Some don't pan out but in the end I think they are beneficial to the operation of the truck. I needed a space for a MatJack to stow so I made a hook/latch that swivels to hold the bag against the rear of the box... I have all different rated loop straps so I found a company that makes custom colored milk crates so now it's obvious where they go... I think this is going to work out so I ordered more. I cut a "Key slot" in the wheel grid brackets to stow my sledge hammer. I have 3 more cabinets to finalize and then it's done. We have some custom drawers to install and a charging system for the Milwaukee tools.

SAM
Do you have to use a wrench on the Green Binders?
EdsTowing
You can...or a ratchet & socket, but it's designed to be quick with an impact gun.
JustSteve
Did you build the shelves? Or did they come with the unit? We are having trouble finding anything available for a 49” tunnel box.

We ordered additional shelves when they were finishing it and then I set them up where I wanted them.

Thanks Ed may try to call Jerr-Dan direct and see what they say because the only shelving we are being offered is the pull down. It’s nice but not $8000 a side nice. EdsTowing
If you can't find a dealer to assist you, contact Richie Guttman @JERR-DAN 717-494-2326. Those "Pull Down" units are very nice but I agree...very expensive. Incorporated in to a $800k Rotator is fine but I couldn't justify it for what I wanted to do with this unit. They have fully enclosed shelves as well as open front units that you mount on an angle to keep the contents secure... That pic has both being used. I have yet to have anything come off the upper shelves, I guess you just need to think about what you need to put there. I imagine if you roll the truck over, the stuff will move but then again you have other concerns at that point...LoL
JustSteve
Ed I just wanted to say thank you for the connection. We were able to get part #s from you man and order shelve to fit. They went in easy and and made a huge difference in useable space. Now that we have move literally almost everything that was pre installed by the dealer to places that make sense truck is finally up and running. Made it’s run today. Even if it’s a smoking deal not sure I would ever buy another truck that someone else ordered and walked away from because everyone like things set up different. But anyways thanks again the help was really appreciated!
EdsTowing
I'm glad it worked out for you guys. Keep Ritchie's number, he won't steer you wrong. There's something very satisfying when you have a truck set up just how you like....
